I am originally from Minnesota, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Rehabilitative Science from Winona State University. I earned my certification as a massage therapist (CMT) from the Montana School of Massage in Missoula, MT. I then graduated from the University of Montana with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and I have spent time studying methods through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy and the McKenize Institute, and have completed courses in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and NeuroKinetic Therapy. Most recently, I became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT), leading to the creation of our Lymphedema Therapy program here at PhysioCare. I enjoy continuing my post-graduation education and am always looking for ways to broaden my knowledge base when it comes to the human body.
When helping a patient through their rehab, it’s important to me that all aspects of an injury are addressed, no matter how simple or challenging this may become. I understand that not all injuries have a single solution, and I enjoy working with people to create a program to help them get back to their work or recreation. I believe that a large part of physical therapy is education and helping you gain information on how to can take an active role in healing and how to implement that into daily life.
Outside of physical therapy, I enjoy spending time outdoors camping or hiking with my husband and dogs, spending time at coffee shops or bookstores, and practicing photography. I look forward to continuing to explore the Pacific Northwest and taking advantage of all it has to offer.
