I graduated from the University of Montana Physical Therapy Program with high honors in 1997. Since graduation, I have continued my education and received additional certifications, including: Certified Integrated Manual Therapist (CIMT), pre and post-natal exercise consultant, Level I USAT triathlon coach, and certified clinical instructor. I have worked in a variety of settings, including acute patient care, skilled nursing facilities, a continence center, and outpatient PT. My professional interests include sport and spine rehabilitation, gait/movement analysis, custom orthotics, the triathlete and endurance sport clients, and all aspects of women’s health.
I grew up in Alaska, and after school in Montana, I moved to Pueblo, CO to work at a hospital there. I transferred to Seattle in 2001 to be closer to family and to return to water and green surroundings. Outside of physical therapy, I enjoy taking in local sporting events, especially the Seattle Sounders, scuba diving, backpacking, and running. I also compete in various distance triathlons and running races to stay active and help me understand the finer points of cross-training. My triathlon experience ranges from sprint triathlons to completing 2 full Ironman events.
My treatment philosophy focuses on looking at the person as a whole. It takes many pieces of the puzzle put together to find a treatment designed for each individual. Understanding people have very busy lifestyles, I incorporate a “quick and easy” home program as well as other small functional changes that will improve your quality of life.Email Mary Beth
