DUVALL

Nestled two blocks from Main Street in Duvall, this clinic specializes in Sports Rehab, Pre and Post Surgical Rehab, and Women's Health Therapy.  

Meet the Team

Mary Beth Ackerman, CEO, PT, CIMT

 Education:  

University of Montana, BSPT  

Certifications: Certified Integrated Manual Therapist, previously certifications in Pregnancy and Exercise, Level 1 Triathlon Coach  

Clinical Specializations/Interests:  Custom Orthotics, endurance athletes, runners. Also, Women’s Health- especially pre/post natal,  peri/post menopause, pelvic pain, and urinary incontinence, 

Why I love being a PT: I love being a PT to help people reach their goals- no matter what those goals are.  I love that PT’s have the gift of time with our patients so we can take the time to really listen, and figure out the root of their problems and work together to help them get back to doing whatever they love to do.  

How I stay active: I run regularly, as well as walk with my dog, hike with my family, and also compete in triathlons.  

Interests: Hiking, camping, Scuba diving (I used to be an instructor), Triathlons, Watching the Seattle Sounders, and helping my son become the best person he can be. 

One word that describes me: Optimistic 

Favorite vacation spot: Hawaii or Camping anywhere

Amber Swedberg, PT, DPT, ATC

 Education:  

Undergraduate: Western Washington University, BS in Exercise Science with a Specialization in Athletic Training

Graduate School: University of Washington, Doctorate of Physical Therapy    

Certifications: ATC, CPR, FMS   

Clinical Specializations/Interests: Return to sports, post op, balance training/fall prevention. 

Why I love being a PT: I get to help people return to what they love to do and in doing so improve their quality of life.   

How I stay active: Hike, jog, ski, snowshoe, walk my dog 

Interests: Photography, travel (I'd like to visit all the National parks) 

One word that describes me: Productive 

Favorite vacation spot: Anywhere out enjoying nature (no screens) with my husband, 2 kids, and dog.

Jessica Stewart, Clinic Director, PT, DPT, OCS

Education: 

Undergraduate: Bachelor of Exercise Science, University of Kansas

Massage Therapy: Wellspring School of Massage in Lawrence, KS 

Graduate School: Doctor of Physical Therapy, Missouri State University

Orthopedic Residency - Evidence in Motion 

Certifications: Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic PT, ICE Certified Specialist: Dry Needling  

Clinical Specializations/Interests: Ortho, sports, volleyball, basketball, golf

Why I love being a PT: I love being a PT because I love problem solving and seeing patients return to what they are passionate about!

How I stay active: Hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, walking my dog

Interests: Hiking, kayaking, reading, and eating! 

One word that describes me: Determined 

Favorite vacation spot: The next one!

Madison Plautz, PTA

 Education: 

AA from Skagit Valley College

AAS Physical Therapist Assistant from Lake Washington Institute of Technology

Clinical Specialization/Interests: I am very interested in sports-specific rehabilitation and pelvic health. 

Why I love being a PTA: I love being a PTA because I get the chance to have a positive impact on our patients' lives while helping them get back to doing what they love!

How I stay active: Weight lifting, running, hiking, snowboarding and playing sports with friends like basketball, spike ball, or beach volleyball!

Interests: Travel, any sport, anything near or on the water, and spending time with family and friends.

One word that describes me: Easy-going 

Favorite vacation spot: New Zealand, Hawaii, or Mexico!

Bachelor of Architectural Studies; Bachelor of Arts in Italian Studies; Victoria University of Wellington, NZ  

Why I love being a Tech:   : I love meeting and interacting with all our patients, hearing their stories and getting to know them. 

How I stay active:  Yoga, pilates, hiking  

Interests:  Gardening, genealogy,  travel, photography, pottery, architecture and design.   

One word that describes me: Nature-lover  

Favorite vacation spot:  Samoa, Sicily and Kauai (I like islands)
